Dixie Power will be raising electricity rates in March of 2023. We understand the impact this will have on our members and assure you that we only raise rates when absolutely necessary. Inflation and rising wholesale power prices are some of the most significant factors that necessitate increased rates in 2023.
Dixie Power has historically had some of the lowest and most stable electricity rates in the region. In fact, we haven’t had a rate increase in five years. Dixie Power has been protected from some of the market volatility other utilities have experienced by being a Deseret Power cooperative member. However, with inflation rising and the Western Electricity Grid shutting down many of its generating resources, wholesale power costs have risen considerably. We assure you that this decision to increase rates in 2023 is necessary to continue to provide you with the safest and most reliable power possible.
The board of directors has approved the following rate increases below:
Residential
Commercial
Irrigation
Impact Fees
New Optional Time of Day Rate
We understand that any rate increase for our members can be a challenge, and we care about you and want to make this transition as manageable as possible. To help ease the transition, we will also implement optional time-of-day rates. These rates are voluntary and a tool for you to leverage if you want to try to avoid any increase in your power bill. Watch for more information about these new time-of-day rates that will be available in 2023.

*All rates, with the exception of our Interruptible Irrigation rate, will be subject to a wholesale peak season cost adjustment beginning in 2023.
WHOLESALE PEAK SEASON COST ADJUSTMENT: The foregoing rates are based upon the Association’s cost of purchased power. The above rates for billing months June – September energy charges are subject to the imposition of any peak season purchased power adjustment either upward or downward which may be established and approved for billing from time to time under established procedures.
